As our Industrial Hygienist, you will be using your expertise and guidance to support the Shell Technology Center in Houston. You will be a member of the regional and global network of Industrial Hygienists, all committed to the same vision, tapping into broad knowledge and experience. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with other colleagues in and outside Shell Health
What is the role
As an Industrial Hygienist , your primary objective is to support the global industrial hygiene plan and strategy, deliver complex site-level industrial hygiene activities and ensure local compliance with legislative and company requirements to support the business in protecting worker health.
Other accountabilities:
Deliver agreed Industrial Hygiene activities and support using standardized tools and processes.
Interpret and evaluate information and advice from experts in an area of expertise.
Assess and ensure compliance with legislative and Shell industrial hygiene requirements.
Develop stakeholder relationships on the asset.
Input to site inspections and audits, conduct and review of health risk assessment.
Assure quality of own work.
When faced with business issues and requests, first leverage existing expertise from the asset class specialists.
Requirements:
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Minimum of 3 (three) years working experience in Research & Development Environment, Gas, Oil, Chemicals, or Renewable Energy
Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene (or Science - Chemical, Physics or Biology) is preferred.
Certified Industrial Hygienist is preferred
Proven experience in Industrial Hygiene practice
Thorough understanding of local and regional legislative requirements regarding workplace health and safety
Experience in advising management on industrial hygiene requirements in line with business and/or functional needs and priorities
Health Risk Assessment skills
Stakeholder management and relationship building skills
Fluent in English verbal and writing skills in English
Driver’s license is required
