Job Details:
SUMMARY: To provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of environmental health and safety programs. Responsible for the overall development and implementation of safety programs and facility security to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Development and validated training of Tecumseh Poultry Safety Written Programs in accordance with OSHA standards and guidelines
Perform regular safety and security audits
Complete First Report of Injury
Perform investigations involving personal injury, property damage, theft or violation of state or federal regulations on company property or in company vehicles
Manage facility security systems such as card access control, CCTV and key control inventory
Develop training and certifications for relevant equipment
Administration of training forms and records for all associates
Monitor incidents to determine trends and corrective actions
Maintain OSHA standards and log
Schedule OSHA Hearing Tests
Develop, administer and conduct meetings for the Safety Committee.
Perform Job Safety/Hazard analysis and administration
Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets
Serves as the company’s security representative and maintains effective liaison with law enforcement agencies and contracted security companies
Administration of Security Policies, Safety Written Programs, OSHA forms/logs and associate training
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Other Skills:
Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
