As a RE HSE Specialist La Gulf Coast, you are responsible of the following duties:


This role is a member of the Americas RE HSE Team and reports to the RE HSE Manager Americas
This is an HSE role within RE delivering on HSE elements to Shell staff and contractors across Louisiana; to include Hancock Whitney Center (HWC), Robert Training Center (RTC), and Gulf of Mexico (GoM) RE assets on several platforms
Support Shell Real Estate Site and Project Managers to develop, implement, and maintain Site HSE Documentation and Project HSE Management plans
The role will include HSE interface with appointed Contractor Partners to coach and advise them on Shell's HSE standards and review Contractor Partner HSE procedures, plans etc
Directly support/interface with GoM Hurricane Response Team
Directly support/interface with GoM Business Continuity Team
Lead HSE assurance activities
Responsible for local Risk Management programs; processes include HEMP, HRA and RE Project Protocols, Annual Risk review, Annual HSE plan review
Influence and support, directly and indirectly, Leadership Teams, RE Site Management and Project Management Teams and external stakeholders (contractors)
Support the development and implementation of standards, processes, tools, organization, and operating model for project delivery at relevant Shell sites across the region
Support compliance with Group HSE expectations as well as local environmental and safety regulations for RE activities are met consistently. Lead or support other SE & SP Improvement programs and projects
Work closely with Contractor partners to strengthen HSE processes, assurance programmes and HSE initiatives

Deliver towards jointly owned SE & SP metrics & score cards (dashboards, linked to business performance outcomes)
Assure that we deliver on RE HSE promises
Strongly support behavioral safety approach working in and outside RE - Connect with the Regional teams on common HSSE goals & delivery, as well identifying new opportunities
Demonstrate a culture that supports and encourages capturing & sharing learnings that drive better performance & greater value across the global RE team & contractors
Support incident investigations and sharing of learnings as well as HSE visible management commitment activities and audits -To build and manage HSSE communication, sharing and learning and arrange regular (Local/Regional) HSE meetings (as required)
Provide professional guidance on HSE elements - Work with and influence regional stakeholders to analyze HSSE data and help developing, implementing and monitoring plans to improve the HSSE performance
Managing Stakeholders - Set business priorities which are aligned with the HSSE needs of the business partners /stakeholders


What we need from you

Skills & Requirements


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Candidate should have a minimum of 6 - 10 (six to ten) years HSE experience in Real Estate, Projects, or office environment
ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) preferred
Experience in HSE management systems, Contractor HSE Management and Project management (construction)
Contractor HSE Management tools
Strong business partnering, stakeholder relationships and management skills
Strong understanding of foundational HSSE processes and practical experience applying HSSE procedures, practices and tools in particular in relation to Risk Assessment, assurance and mitigation
Understanding of change management and process improvement
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including a proven ability to readily influence. Comfortable with communication at all levels from senior management to staff
Fluent written, verbal and presentation skills in English. Comfortable with presenting to small and large groups
Ability to work effectively with internal and external parties on various organizational levels
Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders within Shell Businesses (including regulatory led Work Groups and/or Committees), HSSE personnel to ensure standards and practices are consistently delivered and maintained
Influence personnel and business lines within and outside the HSSE structure
Successful candidate will be required to complete HUET training and travel offshore as needed
This position may require travel < 25%
