Safety Health Specialist Jobs description
Typical responsibilities for a safety specialist include assisting in developing and implementing training programs, training employees on safety matters, conducting safety audits, establishing policies relating to environmental health and safety issues, and researching for new standards in the area. Other duties may include maintaining safety-related programs like workers compensation, loss prevention, industrial hygiene substance abuse, fire protection, and the like; performing site inspections; and promoting safety awareness in the organization. Such positions typically report to the EHS manager.A safety specialist should have a bachelor\'s degree in an accredited occupational safety or environmental management program or in a relevant field along with certification in the area of OSHA. Prior experience working as EHS specialist, environmental health and safety assistant, HES consultant, or any position in the environmental safety area is an advantage.
